I have collected over 1200 dollars from my coworker and friends and donated the money to oxfam and redcross for the relief efforts in Nepal. I took a screen print of the confirmation and sent it as an evidence to all who had donated, while it was not necessary it was an ethical and a right thing to do. Not sure it vouchsafes my honesty, but I at least made sure everyone was in the loop of what is happening with their money.

Now here is another scenario, a friend of mine from highschool who had always been a master manipulator and an evil person in every sense is raising money through gofundme. While I do not have an evidence whether he misused that money or not, given his history I have all reasons to believe he could have spent them for his personal benefits. Again, there is no evidence and he might as well have donated it, and that he might have overnight turned into a generous and altruistic individual but I have all reasons to be wary.

What do I do in that case?
