What's your next best option? (It's a rhetorical question, I am not suggesting you post the answer here; just something for you to think about).

Dude, go for it. What do you have to lose? If you succeed, you will have a nice career and financial security in a couple of years. If you fail, you can try something else. Like someone said, you don't score 100% of the shots you don't take in life. Different people have different aptitude, so there is no way anyone can tell you whether/how fast you will learn Java or how good you will be. Only way to find out is by trying. You've been gifted this marvelous thing called DV, please don't waste it just coz you are afraid of trying. A lot of non-computer graduates take short-term training from consultancies and learn on the job (the first year is going to be tough, you will get used it after that).
