Well! If you try to distort history then you are one of the worst human in the country. You have only pointed out the official version Let me give you another version too.
Juddha Shamsher was in his lavish yearly hunt in naya muluk which was given back to nepal after Nepal helped to crush the 1850s rebellion in India. It was a custom of these prime minister to take the favorite son of second in command when the prime minister left Kathmandu valley. When the earthquake occurred there was no communication between juddha Shamsher and second in command Rudra Shamsher. Keshar Shamsher son of former prime minister Chandra Shamsher was too in the hunt. His wife sent him a letter about what had happened in Kathmandu after which he showed the letter to Juddha. Juddha then took Gopal Shamsher son of Rudra Shamsher as a hostage and even told him. Tero bauko maan nai kalo mukhnai kalo. And gave him some aamachakari gali. Rudra Shamsher's letter arrived the next day briefing what had happened and requested Juddha Shamsher to come as soon as possible then Juddha released Gopal Shamsher saying not to tell his dad how angry he was.
Anyway after returning back to the valley Juddha did what was mentioned in the above post. Now comes the best part. He took money from the treasury that Junga Bahadur had added as daiva prokop and the money which was 11 corer first Bir Shamsher misused it then Chandra Shamsher the Bhim Shamsher (this can be discussed in another post) Juddha took money out for the real purpose and gave all his relatives to distribute it to the people as a loan. The money that was brought back Juddha kept it to himself. but what happens after 11 months after the earthquake those people who couldn't pay the loan back was dragged from their home and was sent to bhadragol Jail. They were tourtered but when he finally realized they cannot get the money back some were let go but some were still kept in the prison. Finally when he got to know that he won't live more than 2 years which was false he decided to go to Ridhi in palpa and he freed the remaining prisoners. In 2 years time when he was in Ridhi Indian Govt planned to scrap all the notes above 100. Juddha sent 2 cart loads to the boarder so he could exchange money as there was time limit.
