You missed the point. I don't think anyone is professing to let the young man go scot-free or mere pat on the shoulder after what he had done. I would assume there are laws and if new laws are required then that should made.
Man is able to do anything, you will be surprised. If you think you are above these people, think again. Life has its ways to surprise the best of us!
That young man is not my relative and neither are the victims, but is that the only reason to wish good out of any misfortune circumstance for anyone? Can't we hate sin but love a sinner?
If the young man faces the legal consequences as he ought to and his life is transformed from darkness to light, then wouldn't that be nice? Isn't that a reason enough to pray for others?
BTW we are all connected in the Spirit. Think beyond i, me, my family; or prove that you are better than someone, or you can't do something. They are all egoic, and the ego can lead a man anywhere low. Wish good for others, don't let evil anyplace in your heart. That's the medicine we all need.
