Pirka bhai. You're wrong, I didn't start from the peon level.. I wish. It was much worse, I took a gig as a buy boy that only lasted one day as I was fired. I then worked in few pool places. But guess what, I never lied about what I could do or who I was.

Sajhamitra, I understand your point. I know the circumstances that lead to this; the industry is actually fostering this. They expect a person to have 5-10 years experience when the programming language itself is 5-10 years old. But that still doesn't make it right. Like I said, you can find justification about everything, but a wrong thing is a wrong thing.

I am trying to not make a big deal out of this, but if I really think about it, it actually depresses me. We as a society have accepted this kind of short-cuts and wrong routes. We are the first to criticize our leaders for taking bribes and doing other illegal things - but we are the first one to give the bribe if opportunity presents us to do so. We are the one to take short-cuts, go via illegal means - justifying our actions to circumstances. Sure the level of wrong doing might not be the same, but that doesn't make it right either.

Lying in a resume outright is wrong, but having somebody else do interview for yourself - that's just plain wrong. You might have no other choice, that still doesn't make it right. I am not saying that the OP should just quit and go back - do whatever you need to do - just don't say it is right. That's all.
