When I was a student, I worked in grocery stores picking up trashes, pool places cleaning pools and sweeping after the hooligans. I probably got lesser than $5/hr that you claim of, but I didn't cry at night. You know why? Because to me they were just any other job. I didn't have expectations of putting my foot on a table and landing my bums on a rotating chair. The job wasn't too hard for me to complain. The job wasn't flattering, but it sure wasn't humiliating either. As long as I was working and earning money, it wasn't humiliating to me.
Disappointed are those who come here with false expectations. Nobody told me it was going to be hard, but I didn't falter when it got hard. I remember once I couldn't even pay my college tuition, but did I cry? Hell no. I dealt with it.

Keep your expectations checked, don't pay attention to the false pride. Things will slowly come to you. If they don't, big deal. Try something else. Trust me, it is 10,000 times better than complaining in a blog.
