i've never been to dc, but would love to go check it out sometime. i'm not surprised that alot of pc volunteers end up there, crazy political bunch! yeah, nyc is the place to meet any and all kinds of people, but i actually am not in the city. i live in upstate ny right now. i went down to nyc last weekend for the opening of the rubin museum of himalayan art and met a lot of great nepalis. they loved when my pc friend and i spoke to each other in nepali. "eh, saathi, ta pani estai naachna sakchhas?" they weren't expecting that from a couple of goro maanches. only in nepal do people think it's a huge deal when your baby is old enough to eat rice for the first time
