Should such encounter happen to your dad, you dad does not know what to do since you haven't made him aware of what to do and so will try to reach in pocket to take phone or phone number to tell cops to call you. Cops will think he is trying to get the gun and they will slam your dad. At the end of the day, your father gets hurt, then you will sue the Cops coz it's their fault , go to Court and get loads of money in lawsuit. You were and you will be wright, that's Cops fault and they are to blame and so you get loads of money. However, your father is hurt.

This is what I will do: I will say to my dad, "In an encounter with Cops, do not do anything, keep hands outside without moving them, just yield to them. Say No English, My Son. They will pat you down themselves and they will find whatever phone number or phone or any written address in your pocket and they will call me." In such encounter, my father does everything I told, does not get hurt, the Cops will call me and ask me about my father. I will describe them everything. At the end of the day, my father is safe and sound.
