Mr. D, Are we assuming that the fault driver has a valid insurance?
I hope you are okay and hopefully he does have a valid insurance and you get cheque from them ASAP. In that case, they will pay for the rental plus the time you had to take off work due to the inconvenience of the accident.
Working with the 3rd party insurance is such a pain, they don't want to talk about it until they get hold onto the police report, which might take weeks.
