Hands Up! Don't shoot!!

As I have grown older, I might not have grown wiser but I certainly feel like I have gone less dumber. One thing I have learned is that in most instances of controversies, picking one side is never right.

The kid who was shot, was actually not a kid, but a 6'4" giant in a young man's body that had just "bullied" a shopkeeper and robbed him. Police didn't get to him because of this incident, but the incident at least speaks of the attitude of this young man. When the whole black nation rallies behind him, sometimes they should remind themselves that the reason they are getting prejudiced and targetted could be because of their own act. It's about time to go beyond the blame games and making slavery an excuse. If we can have a black president, why don't you think the attitude will change if there is some effort from the whole community? Instead of blaming everybody else, isn't it time to take a look at ourselves and see what we did wrong?

On the same token, I don't care how much you are threatened for your life, but until the man has you on his choke hold or the person is armed, you just shouldn't be shooting at the person. If you want to shoot, perhaps shoot at his knees or anywhere below hips. This is why I am a big proponent of police officers wearing a camera in their body.

Both sides should stop blaming each other and see what they can do to correct their own faults before they come out aggressively at the other party.
