@ flyhigh... Mind is Prana; hence, mind can be completely brought under control by controlling Prana. I highly recommend the subject doing Pranayama, and mantra meditation every single day. Along with this, sirsasana is very good for treating depression. You can learn these techniques in Nepal in any authentic Yoga center. I do not prescribe taking anti-depressant for these kind of mental disease because they do have serious side-effects. You can easily treat depression within couple of months. I don't know much about schizophrenia, but many mental diseases are cured gradually with continuous practice of Asana, Pranayama, and meditation followed in that order. You need to understand that body is made of five elements viz. fire, air, space, water, and earth. And within our body, there are five types of vital energy that makes our body function properly viz. Prana, Apana, Vyana, Samana, and Udana. All diseases no matter physical or mental are the result of imbalances in these elements and vital energy.
