As far as investing while a student, Im sure that is allowed as you are in legal status.
For learning about stocks I would keep half in simple/boring investments... and other half you can gamble..
-Simple: Invest in SPY and learn about basics of investment from yahoo finance or read books.. and follow people like Warren Buffett, Jim Rogers, Marc Faber, Peter Schiff, Doug Kass, George Soros etc etc
And/OR
And/OR
-Gamble: People like Jim Cramer or buy whatever you feel like.
