I thought I'd read something profound. Instead, it was a childish post by a so called "traveller" or charity-worker, who expects everywhere in the earth to be as developed as Picadilly street. Of all the things, she has a spider to complain about and a "rabid" dog to be worried about?

Her complaints about not being useful is valid, but did she make any effort other than just sitting there? Sure the NGOs said she didn't need any Nepali, but if she wanted she could surely have done something to get her point across through many people; even in villages we have people who can understand and speak broken english.

The writer just exposes herself to easy criticism with this blog, there's no way you can take her seriously. But one big thing to come out of this is the inadequacy of NGOs. We have just too many NGOs with special interests operating in Nepal. If these NGOs just shell out their operating money to the villagers, Nepal would have been rich by now. There are few NGOs with valid cause and which have made huge difference, but most are there to either serve a special interest (religious or otherwise) or to fund money to the operators.
