They way Lok Man was appointed as CIAA chief, that wa svery unusual. Lok Man may be  a good person but he was involved in supression of peoples movement. I also beleive that there are many ppl who can successfully take the responsibility of the head of CIAA. but he was selected as if he was the only one capable of. 

But any way that is history now.
Once  selected, there was public pressure to Lok Man to justify his selection as CIAA chief and also on Political parties for their selection of him.

We also know that corruption is rampant in Nepali society. We need to check it. CIAA need to start from some place, we can debate wheather his starting point is good enough or not but not the start isteself. He has started much needed action.

BUT I am not giving LOk Man Karki a pesonal thumbs up. In my opinion we shoud stop patronizing, he did what he supposed to do  and CIAA was created to do thta. 

As nepali citizen we should demand more from him, because He is being paid by the tax payers money.

Second, starts seems to be good But I woiuld like to see those ppl behind the bar for long time as they are responsble for people suffering. So CIAA needs to make stong case before the court otherwise "hatti aayo hatti aayoo fussa" huncha. 
If CIAA fails to make strong case in the court it will be like " Bhrastachar bata cholkhyaune kaam" like special court did to many politicians in past. 

I agree that some of our laws that deals with social activities needs not be  revisited , But so are many other for example, If a person want to kill a guy/gal he can do it very carfully for 500,000 Rs. He can ask a mini van driver to hit the person so that the guy is killd, later produce it as accident and pay compensation of 50,0000. many ppl in nepal are killed this way in past. And this is the reason why many drivers opt kill the human they hit instaed of taking him to hospital. because if he takes him to hospital  driver will be reponsible for entire treatmenrt. on the otherhand if the person is killed, Kiriya kahrcha is only 17,000 and the compensation is 5,000,00 (paid by the insurance).


Similary if you pnch someone and broke his teeth, the compensation is only 500 Rs. so all these law need to be revisited.

Regarding the CIAA raiding the birthday party.Such party costs minimum 5,00,000 (1000 per person but if you are serving imported whisky and other high quality food the cost is even higher, so money he is spending must be the money he earned. Did he decleared that money as profit from business, did he paid tax for that?. usually in nepal they dont declear any profit or very little profit from business, bribe tax officer and later use that money in different extravagant thing like that birthday party. so, Inorede to spend 5,00,000 in birthday party the guy must have maid big fat ammount of money from his business ( I know he was doing business in nepal since King Tribhubhan). How much tax he paid and how much income he ecleared?

If you declear your income is only  One million in that year or every year and paid tax for that and you spend almost half of it in one birthday aprty, sound fishy. isnt it?

In conclusion although selection of Lok Man was very controversial he has started something which CIAA should have started long ago.
But start only is not enough successfull end is also equally important, so I am in wait and  see situation, just waiting  him produce stong cases before the court. If he successfully does that then only his selection is justified.
