You don't need a lawyer to fill out any forms like I 130 or I 485. It is very easy to fill out the forms and submit them. I did the same thing without anybody's help. As chelsea bro said, just visit their uscis.gov website after filing out the forms, put the numbers that you get after submiting the forms and keep track of your process in the website. Everything will be mentioned in the website about your next step. I was invited for an interview within 3 months, after I submitted my forms. Best of luck
