Oooh .... They can dish it but can't take it? Unless the court rules against this absurd charge, incidents like these will stain Qatar's image of being an emerging center for openness and liberalism in the Middle East.  Being an outsider is no easy task in much of the Middle East, let alone being a Kafir (infidel/non-believer). Not just are you deprived of equal representation under the law, you also face a highly biased and prejudiced system that sometimes goes against the basic tenants of international law. Case in point the execution of a Sri Lankan maid  a few months ago in Saudi Arabia for the death of her employer's child. She was a minor at the time of the alleged crime, did not understand English or Arabic well, and, according to human rights advocates, was coerced by the police into signing a confession that was later used against her in court. It is shameful enough that  people from poorer countries are routinely mistreated and abused in the Middle East -- the fact that this incident occurred at a "prestigious" institution - against a teacher -  makes it all the more disturbing because you would think such institutions would be at the forefront of fighting this kind of prejudice.
