Racist Encounter at the White House :A Bad Time to be Brown in America?

Very poignant, and equally well crafted. For the first time, I am pleased that there are no negative comments in this thread considering the woman is of Indian origin.

Living in the vast expanse of redneck America, a state below the heartland, I, although haven’t been explicitly belittled, see the prejudice in the eyes of the whites every day. Indifference from a waitress or a cashier at the bank, or a boiler operator, and perhaps security guard in this regard when they have been more than subservient to other white folks is something I encounter frequently.
But then I often ask myself if I should be quick in pointing fingers and calling all whites racists. Maybe I should, but then my boss is a different story, my vice-president is even more humble, my co-workers more than friendly and my associate as kind as she could be.
Racism stems out of ignorance, or of genuine hatred, or sometimes, although inadvertently just to claim oneself superior. When she spoke of the narcissist politicians, it reminded me of prima donnas back home, the former royal family members, their allies and our own dear neo-billionaire Binod Chaudhary and similar likes. Maybe we are more comfortable being loathed by the people who look like us than by whites, I do not know, but we find such people everywhere. In her case there were these sorry security personnel, evidently not holding a great job with limited education and bigotry, which is expected.
It is an awful story, and I am sad it happened to her, makes me wonder what my little girl endures at school and doesn’t even realize it, but I wonder if her ire would have been similar if she attended a local church or non-profit or made friends with a ‘white’ social worker.
