 Gorikopoi Ji,

I am glad that you agree with me, but I am going to have to disagree with you on whatever you have said. The essence of my post was not about rediculing Nepali people or Nepal. Both Nepal and USA ,or any other country for that matter, are beautiful in their own ways, and that equally rich cultures. Making fun of any culture or any people, isn't my thing.

What I wanted to say was that we don't need to cling to the remnants of our past, whatever they may be and however one may percieve them. Siddartha Gautam lived and died long before there was Nepal or India, and we dont need to claim him. His teachings are really meaningful, and I adhere to a many of them myself. But his mere being born within what is politically Nepalese boundry now should not be a pride for us. Also, It is a pretty my accepted fact that he was born in Nepal, so why worry about some random misinformation that floats around once in a while.

Another thing I saw in one of those 'Buddha was born in Nepal, not India' groups was an unanimous hatred towards India and Indian people. Why is that? Is that what Buddha would have agreed with??

Last but not the lease, do we really need to convince the world that Mt. Everes is in Nepal?? Are we that insecure??
