INDIO--A Northern California man convicted of murder and conspiracy learned his fate Friday for the 2008 killing of a Palm Springs retiree. Kaushal Niroula is the fifth man to be sentenced in connection with the case.

It's life in prison without the possibility of parole for convicted killer Kaushal Niroula. Niroula was found guilty of first degree murder back in September for the financially motivated killing of Clifford Lambert. Lambert was attacked in the kitchen of his home and buried in the desert. His body has never been found.

"This time he lost. This time he was sentenced as appropriate. Justice was served," said Deputy District Attorney Lisa DiMaria.

Deputy District Attorney Lisa DiMaria says Niroula is part of a criminal enterprise motivated by greed. His final victim, Clifford Lambert was stabbed to death in his kitchen and buried in the desert.

"This was Tragic but justice was served and it was served among someone who is a manipulative con artist," DiMaria said.

A manipulative con artist who targeted several other people including Tyson Wrensch. Wrensch says he was out of the country when Niroula stole his identity, moved into his house and drained his bank accounts  Now he's thankful Niroula is locked up indefinitely.

"It's a relief that these vultures are gone," said victim Tyson Wrensch.

The final defendant to be sentenced in the Clifford Lambert murder case, Craig McCarthy, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter back in August of 2010. He's scheduled to be sentenced on January 25th.

We will continue to follow the Lambert murder trial and bring you the very latest.
