by 2020, they're planning manned mission to mars.
If that happens, within next 100-200 years, we'd be terraforming mars,
and in another 1000 years or sooner, man will be living there in domes , :D 
This could work if everyone goes as planned. 
We are not even sure if 'Curiosity' will safe land. If it gets obliterated way before landing coz of mar's hostile atmosphere, pufff.. all hope lost for long time :D But lets keep our fingers crossed and wish it be landed safe :D 
It's car sized almost 2000 pounders mechanical robot planned to work there for at least 2 years. :D
