The kings starting with Prithivi Narayan Shah understood one thing very clearly from day one....the kingdom they were able to conquer was solely the result of ethnically divided tiny nations. The kings knew only way to rule one of the most diverse part of the world was by promoting peace and ethnic harmony. So they had a vested interest in keeping Nepal peaceful and united. Today with so many political parties and leaders, everyone want a piece of their pie and the only way to ensure that is by dividing Nepal in the name of ethnic federalism.

This begs the question: if the then tiny ethnically divided nations was able to capture by Prithivi Narayan Shah, who is going to capture future's ethnically divided Nepal once again?
