I second you chorfata, except on one thing: I don't get why you're against threads on immigration/visa/student status. If they bug you, just refrain from clicking on them. Hiring a lawyer might be helpful, but it's not going to be an absolute answer for all the questions people have. A lawyer only knows things; he/she hasn't gone through them. I encourage people to post their queries regarding immigration, visa, etc and request anyone who knows anything about the question being asked to respond. However, it'd be better if the person with a question searches for old threads related to his/her issue, read through it, and revive the thread if that doesn't answer the question.

When it comes to things like these, I think experience is more important than the knowledge you get from a book. If you were to buy an expensive camera, would you buy it based on what the specification sheet tells you (the lawyer) or would you prefer to go by the reviews from people who've already used it (people with experience)?
