well let me remind the readers what it is reported in the nepalnews regarding this issue.

Govt directs MoFA to end Gurkha recruitment

The almost two centuries-old unique tradition of Nepali citizens serving in foreign armies as the “brave” Gurkha soldiers (also called Gorkha soldiers) and laying down their lives in numerous wars may soon come to an end if the current Maoist-led government has its way. - Nepalnews, 03/19/2012

it is just an speculation that the current Maoist-led government wants to end the gurkha employment.

so what happens if the current Maoist-led government really stop the nepalese from being recruited with the foreign british and indian armed forces?
here's the short scenario.

well i can see chaos from happening. Baburam Bhattarai and His cabinet ministers are digging their graves. it is to be noted that majority of the combatants who made up
the Maoist troops are the same people who seek employment with the british and indian as the gurkhas or which other nepalese said foreign mercenary.

first create the job opportunities in our country then Gurkha Recruiting will stop automatically. even with college, universities degrees, there's aren't any jobs for nepalese. seriously how many nepalese students in USA will return home or even dare to return home after graduating. maybe you call the gurkhas mercenry but aren't you nepalese who are here in USA mercenaries as well. you may be working as mercenary gas station worker or mercenary dish water. others may be working as mercenary servers. the fact is when one works for other countires, you are all mercenaries. the only difference is the title. they are soldiers, while nepalese in USA works in different field.

If you want to be proud of a sovereign country, do not rely on the AID from foreign country. but nepali ministers are happily accepting money donated by foreign nations.
is that make us nepalis proud accepting money as beggars. so again those ministers who made such decision to stop the gurkha recruitment should look into their own deeds and actions.
finally all national policy making and decision making solely lies in 3 political parties of nepal which does not represent the majority of nepalese and not certainly adivasi janajatis of nepal and in this case not certainly the gurkhas community.
therefore if the plan of stopping gurkha recruitment into british and india is successful, i fear there would be reparation by those people who have been following the gurkha tradition for  last 150+ years.  again if you want to stop this tradition of nepalese joining the foreign army, then make sure the decision makers have alternative jobs for them.
