I think Nepali8 is right. To get that 1000 dollars you just need to have to have the information about your university which are to be filled while filling the tax.
You can even get that information from your friends from your university who has 1098t form or you can ask your advisor.
I did my tax return through turbotax and i already got my tax return in my bank account. Turbotax is so easy to use and it just cost me around 29 dollars (which i think was charged for state tax return).
But the thing that i did not understand was I am working on OPT now; but there was no place where i could specify my status. So, how is the tax adjustment done by turbotax? Or did i do it the wrong way while i should have filed as an OPT?
