Bhavindra has misunderstood the concept of "displaced volume of water" as mentioned in the Archimedes Principle. It is not necessarily physically present water in the container.

If 300 gm object floats in 20 gm water, it does not mean that the floating object has to physically displace 300 gm of water from the glass.

The upthrust is equal to the weight of the water that would fit in the geometrical space occupied by object.

That geometrical space occupie by the submerged portion of the floating object does not need to have water to start with.

So, 300 gm object floating over 20 gm of fluid is not a violation of Archimedes Principle.

[p.s. I used gram loosely as a measurement of weight.]
