Comedy: On a dare, I wrote and performed in a half-hour Nepali-English stand-up comedy show last April. Much to my shock, the program was received very well by 100-odd audience members, each of whom paid Rs. 100. Buoyed by that experience, and having met and befriended a number of Nepali comedians since, I am now -- together with Manoj Gajurel, a well-known comedian in Kathmandu --trying to get a regular comedy scene going here in Kathmandu. I am NOT sure how successful we will be, but, hey, we are willing to give it a try and see what happens. Our first show -- after I get back from travels abroad in August -- is scheduled for: Friday, the 10th of September, 2004 at 6:30 pm at Dhokai Ma Cafe. There will be about 5 comedians. I will do a 10-minute. I'll keep you guys posted about the progress.
