Don't buy new clothes in Nepal before you come.  American styles and sizes will enable you to fit-in more readily.  Good shoes are easily available. It is true that your clothes will shrink, and you are likely to gain weight here.  Don't buy a camera before you come.  You can get good digital camera here for good price.  Do bring pictures of your family, friends, girl friend, house.  They will help to keep you from getting homesick.  Bring all certificates, transcripts even if you have sent copies to your university.  They will not return them to you.
