I am not surprised by the USD being stronger and rupee being weaker but am surprised by how on earth you save that much money? Anyway lets go back to the point you raised, as you know the west is heading towards double deep recession and big companies are pulling out their investments from emerging economy like India, china etc to recover losses back home therefore dollar's demand is very high and it will remain high for sometime. Another reason could be devaluation of asian currencies.
