 No doubt Nepal is in a transformative phase. In this phase, what we should do is grade a person by the progress during his/her tenure rather than his/her past actions and affiliations. The stand that war criminals should be punished is right but the question is - given the current situation of Nepal where there has been no constitution for a long time, whether it is likely. If it is not, then the energy could be spent to reconstruct and renovate Nepal. From my experience, we Nepalese are so selfish. We prefer Afno Manche over Ramro Manche any day, and for any position. We do not have a meritocratic society. It's about time we changed our conceptions and strive for a society where merit is given preference and accomplishments are given credit.
