This democratic election process in the ANA shouldn't be stopped! After we helped bring together about 4,000+ ANA members to vote for their leaders of choice, the Old Guards of the ANA have asked that the elections be stopped indefinitely. WE, THE ANA ATTENDEES AND WELL-WISHERS DESERVE A FAIR AND DEMOCRATIC ELECTION. Please read the letter below and email the Election Committee and the ANA attorney to show your support for a fair and democratic election and to continue on with the voting process. Every single email sent would help bring about the change we urgently seek:
Dear ANA Members,
As most of you are aware of, in the past few months we have witnessed an ongoing power struggle where a lawsuit too has been filed by the Old ANA Guards against the current Board Members. The Old Guards want an ANA where there are no elections and only the candidates of their choice are elected within closed doors. And as per the lawsuit, they have asked that the democratic elections that were to be held this week be frozen indefinitely!
It is time we, the ANA members stood up collectively against this atrocity. Thanks to the current Board, this is the first time in ANA's 28 year history that a democratic election is finally being held and so far, 4,000+ registered members have signed up to vote. A far cry from the 150 voters in the past! Let's not allow this lawsuit to bar us from being able to voice our concerns. It is only with the power given to each ANA member to vote for their candidate of choice, we may finally see better days for what was and still is, the biggest Nepalese association in the US.
To voice our support and to continue on with the election process, let's each send an email of support to the current Election Committee asking them NOT to stop this democratic elections.
