What is the purpose of trying to qualify for the World Cup? is it to win it all at the biggest stage or just getting qualified, supporting one's national pride?

If we don't lean on nationalism and national pride and patriotism, what is the point of watching the world cup? I always see either Eurpoean or South American teams winning the Men's World Cup...every freaking time.....and that has left me with a void...does it even matter? the country from either region will always win it all....
