Hi! nepal_tara888, I have heard this "sexual abuse" issue in this forum a couple of times. Most of the time its written by anon users like you who can not be authenticated. If the story you mentioned is true, I think this is (election) right time and let one of the candidate stand up on your side. I doubt very much that with the Nepali culture and the enormous influence from St. X in St. X alumni's network and elitism in Nepal (the pride they have in claiming or to be called as St. X graduate) that any St. X alumini will be able to talk things against St. X and even if happened (your claims) at St. X in the past, most of the St. X alumni will dismiss it like "tyasto ali ali ta jaha pani huncha". Well, when I was in Japan, and during my job entry a counsellor told all the employees that let our organization be free from sexual harassement, unfortunately, later a guy working there in some other department sexually harassed a woman. Then girl came forward and discussed with the authorities and finally, authenticity was verified and the org. was about to announce the incident for public acknoledgement, unfortunately, a publishing house broke the news and the president realized the drawback of slowness in response but finally they came forward and told the story and the actions against the guy while preserving the privacy of the girl. Well, our organization was no more virgin w.r.t. sexual harassement, but, I was very happy to find how the org. moved ahead to avoid further damage and next incidents. Many peoples don't know what is the border line between sexual harassement and joking or having fun within the limit of law. Sexual harassement certainly depends on the knowledge of the issue to both side. I remember one of my collegue was using APPLE to tease a female colleague and I could see that male colleague unaware of what that joke / fun meant teasing would mean when looked from sexual harassement issues. So, if you are honest and have witnesses, then, you can come forward and call for a press conference and let the issue goes beyond ST. X alumni and in this election hours, I am sure either one of the two presendential candidate at GAA will try to catch the issue to pull votes. I remember a case in Japan, it was Baisakh 1 and I was returning to my apt. after getting my visa extended from immigration office that was around 2-3 hours of driving from my resident. While returning I set my usual FM (Tokyo FM in english) an was listening to it. suddenly, I heard the story on Govinda Mainali who is still in jail was said to got a verdict in his favor in a murder trial case which many Nepalis and his sympathizers believe he is innocent and his crime was only to sleep with her occaisionally at her apartment house owned by the japanese who owns Kantipur Restaurants in Shibuya. When I returned to my residence, I immediately wrote the news to the student's forum in Japan and the news disseminated in an hour or less. Then, a section of Nepali students (who were so called elites) did not want to take the isssue and did not want to help Govinda tried blast another student who tried to ask for the student's orgnization to actively involve in the issue. The students were very much polarized. Finally, there was an election for the next committee and the Govinda Mainali issue raisers stood up as one candidate and finally, he won the election, and I am sure that he would have never stood up as a candidate was there no verdict in Govinda Mainali case on that day and if I did not wrote that email in the public email box. Therefore, if you really want to make a issue then, its a right time, provided its a real story and you know there are at least some witnesses and I don't think that the witnesses should come forward and tell what happened, but, they can be real danger to those candidates who if by chance denied that it never happend. Writing in Sajha.com won't influence the election and neither your cause, nor it really make a difference because you are writing as an anon user and we nepalis are tired of rumor generators and many peoples will dump your claims as a garbage as long as you don't give some verifiable source or yourself 's real identity.
