I recently asked you guys what major should I choose from CS/CIS and MIS and thanks for the help I got. After a lot of research, I have decided to go with MIS. However, my parents don't seem to be very happy with my decision just because I wont get my Associates degree this way. Actually, the thing is I had taken computer science before and was going to a community college for associates of science in CS. But they dont have Associates degree for MIS. So my parents are like you wont get a degree. And they say if unfortunately if I have to leave US before I get my bachelor's; I wont have any degree. So they want me to get the associates in CS anyways and then only go for MIS. But I dont wanna do that because that way I will have to take all those classes like math and science anyways which I dont wanna do. So, my question is how important do you think an Associates degree is anyways? How about getting associates in business which is very similar to basic requirements for MIS plus a few classes? Or any other ideas you can share. Or other associates similar to MIS' basic requirements.
