well, thats true if you  are living in the past
its a human instinct, and natural. the designer (if theres any) of this living natural world has made sex basis of its existence. this act is done by  all creatures in some way to procreate. its necessary. its law of nature.

people like krishna, buddha, guru nanak, jesus were against it because back in their time people were mis using sex.

prostitution was prevalent everywhere, and sexually transmitted diseases were causing a havoc. condoms were not available. and people were dying of these diseases and thought wrongful sex was punished by god and that the angered god gave them these diseases.

alcohol and sex were a  strong form of entertainment. rich were doing it, and the poors wished they could afford it...

earlier religions taught  that gods also drank alcohol and indulged in sex.(eg. apsaras, swarga and som ras). but these gurus were trying to introduce a new consciousness suitable for the society in their time.

there were limited form of contraceptives availabe..and the poors who made many babies as  a restult of sex, eventually got into trouble; they would have to work extra hard to feed them. once you had sex ,consequence would be babies and more babies.

rapes committed were very hard to prove, because they had limited law enforcement capabilities unlike today to prove that the act had been  committed by an individual. eg no DNA test and all

these were few problems back in those days, which these great gurus were trying to solve by telling people not to indulge in sex and made it a taboo and evil. these are just few  reasons why sex was a taboo back then

im not saying that these saints  had any ill intention. i have nothing against them nor do i condemn the message they conveyed. because they were right  for their times. but times had changed now and it is very important for  us to realize that the idealogy that were regarded as truth, thousands or even hundred years ago needs some revison,  and people should rather focus on  the reasons for their preaching instead of blindly following.

now come to present where the world has evolved:

prostitution is still a problem but peolpe are aware of the consequences of doing it without condom. the ratio of people who died of sexually transmitted disease has been controlled . i agree that third world countires still face this problem. but that might be because the people living under the poverty line stiil carry the mentality of krishna's or buddha's time. they lack education, they know litte about what the world has become and what are the benifits of using the technology. this teaching of buddha and krishna will still fit with them because these innocent poor  people  cannot think the way a modern person does but it sure is helping them with the issues i underscored above. we actually need to educate them

contraceptives are available everywhere. people can choose to not have babies if it does not suit their lifestyle. because a man /woman of modern time has other priorities. people have understood that sex is just a natural instinct. similar like hunger. so people get it but do not get entangled in the consequences like babies, family and all. whats wrong with it??

also, sex related crimes like rape has significantly dropped because now  the offender knows that DNA evidence can get him behind the bars which in the times of buddha or krishna was a matter of  great dispute over the evidence of such acts.

summarily saying, i believe villifying the act of having sex in modern times cannot be justified. we all know its just a natural instinct similar to hunger and thirst. we have been designed that way. the whole nature has been designed that way. so whats point in proving it not to right. if  two people meet, and would like to have sex with each other,  whats the fuss about?? isnt that how biology works in all living creatures. society has to change with times and the idealogies it carries. being a person having access to internet and living in the modern world does not suit us to  advocate the long dead principles of our age old religions. rather find reasons to why they were ,for or against the issues. that would suit us i believe.
