If you get award/scholarship of more than a grand a year towards your tution, the tution will be automatically instate.
i would check this information on the website of UTA. In my understanding, this amount has increased. May be I am wrong.
UTA was one of the easiest school to ger scholarship. Things have changed. They have cut a whole lot of grands and funds.
If you have Phi theta kappa memebership, you get 1000 per year as scholarship, max of 2 years. It is very unlikely to get scholarship after few semesters , once you enrolled in UTA, . You might still get deparmental scholarship, and any other private scholarship and also early graduation ( used to be 15 credits hours per semster for 2 semester and GPA 3.50; not sure might be 3.25 ). But this are hard to get, as too much compition.
If I were you I would wait one more semester, ask Admission departmnet to push your date to Jan 2012. Also look for Associate Schoalrship, easy to get. and easy to mainatin once accepted.
