Fat Beast, your response actually makes sense.

Saaj, I can't argue that. Sure, I'd be happy to see my kid get A in his exam, who wouldn't? But I am not sure if I will be as much happy if I gave the exam for him (say take home exam); this is similar. When a kid gets straight As, you're happy because he/she worked for it and got what he deserved. What did the infant/toddler do in the case that we're discussing. True, that the kid won't win a public voting match w/o help from parents, but why even participate and go around public asking for vote? I still don't get it.

Geo, Again, I will be more happy if my kid wins a prize that he deserves. And yes, I have a kid.
