I dont think they send confirmation of filing to your e-mail adress either. When you filled up the firm and submit it, they had shown you a confirmation page with number, name and year of birth, and they had clearly mentioned that you need this to check the result. anything with confirmation number, print it and save, you can print as pdf using adobe acrobat and save on your computer. <br />
I do pay all my credit cards and bills online and save all the confirmation pages. I learned a hard lesson, Once i paid a credit card bill online, but they did not put it through (they did not take money from my bank account as well) and charged me late fee, once i called them with confirmation number, they credited me for late fee ( It was Citi Bank). So always save your online transaction confirmation number until it get posted.<br />
