One can do all the good there is but once you are suspected of something illegal, especially one as grave as capital offense (murder) or sexual molestation, then justice needs to be served. That presents a burden for the suspect to prove his/her innocence and the burden for the accusers to prove the crime. For a suspect as high a stature and self-declared purity like Sai Baba, going through the legal prosecution and winning the case appears to be in his favor so as to clear himself of the charges. I wonder what his hesitation was all about!
If I were a resident in Andhra Pradesh, India and a direct benefactor of the Sai Baba cult, I would have been a stubborn follower of him too. If I were a Tibetan, I would have been a die-hard devotee of Dalai Lama as well. But I happen to be neither.
Hey by the way, I have run into plenty of Sai Baba devotees from Nepal, are there any Sai Baba Universities or Hospitals in Nepal too? If there is any, I will become a Sai Baba follower today onward.
