You have to be enrolled in one of the residency programs even though you pass your USMLE. Instead of going for an elective, apply for masters instead (so that you can obtain a student visa). Once you arrive, you switch into elective like health Science and apply for residency. Remember, you need to complete your residency even though you pass USMLE! You will then be able to practice medicine.
