mindgame, i am guessing you are newcomer to US too right? I went through the same thing when i first came. Gradually you will earn to adapt and start socializing. It happens to everyone. Just be yourself and keep your hands off drugs because i know many who think once they do drugs they will be cool and all and before they know it they dont have money to pay their fees and go back.
