Can you check if you do Itemized deduction, Long time ago a friend of mine filed 1040 NR but he never uesed EZ but the 1040NR and he told me that he Itemized.
On itemized he used to add all stationary for school, books and mandetory fees not health insurance, made some jack up in total deductible and less tax liablility. He told me that school or any NR software would not tell you this"Itemized deduction'.
