Try to restor it then unlOck it. I had the same problem as well. I was using 4.2.1. I couldn't jailbreak and unlock it the right way. So I restored it to the original factory setting. Then went to unlock mobile center and they did that for 10 bucks. 4.2.1 is easy to jailbreak but kinda hard to unlock it. Coz u have to install the IPad broadband. But many times springboard crashes. It won't bother though if you have patience.
