Just file the Tax for 2010.
Since you didn't work in 2009, you owe nothing to IRS.
Now I am not sure, if you will get the Student Credit for 2009. But, believe me IRS is such a nice thing, that they will give you what they owe you, and They will get what you owe them.
I didn't file tax in 2008 for fiscal year 2007, But when I filed in 2009 for fiscal year 2008, they added $ 800.00 to my refund since they owed me American Oppourtinity Credit (don't know the exact name) from year 2007.
So I think just file the 2010 using some online site TurboTax or TaxAct, and it will guide you step by step.
