you have an answer for everyone dont you chanatarkari? now i feel you are getting to a point where everyone that doesnt agree with you becomes ignorant. you have madeup your mind and put everyone under the same microscope. now to your comment for me...........me and my wife met here in the US and decided to marry with or without our family's consent , it was love and later our family agreed, it wasnt smooth sailing, My Family was very accepting of our marriage, more than hers ( there were some spoilers) but my immediate family was ok, my mom is Rana(Thakuri), and my Dad is Thapa(Chettri). In Nepali caste system (whis is bullcrap), we are pretty high up there yet my wifes(Manandhar) newar relatives, (who are nice now) treated us like low caste in their culture. AS time went by things got better. Now there is no tension at all after 5 yrs.........
I grew up in a very mixed town in Kathmandu, Our neighbors were all mixed, chettri, Newars, baun, gurung, etc hence my friends were all from different castes yet we never made that an issue. Even now at 30 yrs old...I never feel caste is not important, we should all be one caste that is NEPALI,
you can go down our history and present culture and find enough reasons to start an ethnic civilwar in Nepal OR move ahead and build a peaceful Nepal by learning form our mistakes. We are all common Nepali people trying to make a living, whether it be Baun, chettri or Newar, all we want is the best for our family, it wont come with bloodshed and violence because brother, dont think an yother caste is weak and wont pickup weapons against each other and that will happen if one caste attacks another caste and kill loved ones...then there will be no turning back.
Who is better that who, who is high caste? who is low? in this day and age if we keep pondering on those issues and dig the past, we are just inviting more trouble. People who feel they need to justify themselves by putting others down are cowards and hypocrites, because they do others what they dont others to do to them.
