If you are looking for serious help: Deduction depends on how long you have been in the US. Unless rules have chaged, you don't get deductions for the first five years. Tax filing is straight forward. You enter you income and deduct the excemp amount. You will be allowed to file as a US citizen from the sixth year and allowed to include all deductions and credits. I was taught that way and that I what I did.
