Ya, I have been in a collection situation as well due to some misinformation. However, guys, remember that some kinds of debt have Statute of Limitations and will go off your record after 7 years (it depends though). The debt I have will be getting off my record soon (which occurred due to lack of communication with my insurers) and they were not that much.
I have money to pay it off now but I heard that it stays on your record for 7 more years even if it's settled and I have decided at this point to simply let it erase from my record soon. Credit score is still in the 600-650 range sadly though :(
Anyone in a similar situation.

Scam nahuna ni sakchha obviously tara huna ni sakchha. Be sure before you do anything.
