I do not trust Maoist and their ideology neither do I trust cast or nationality based republic system for Nepal. Geographically based republic states may be best for Nepal in my opinion.
I have following to say in present case.

1. It is very difficult for me to believe that Chinese will use such unsecured telephone line for such confidential conversation. I have used 128 bit secured telephone/fax for business purpose and these security devices are easily available in the market. I am not an expert on telephone encryption but please visit  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Encryption_Standard for further information. Here, Chinese prestiege is involved (forget about Nepal) that's why I have a doubt about it.

2. Based on voice we cant tell whether the person is Chinese or someone else. For one moment let us suppose the guy is Chinese even then we cant say he is talking on behalf of Chinese govt. (In the conversation the recorder asumes the person is Chinese and he is acting on behalf of a friend who looks after the interest of China, that is just assumption.Use of Chengdu and Hong Kong gives the impression of Chinese involvement, hey Lhasa could have been easier place for both of them  than Hong Kong.

3. Did Mahara visited Hong Kong after the conversation? I don't think so

4. If both of them can talk this sort of confidential talk over the telephone why it is necessary to go to Hong Kong to see the friend of Chinese guy? Are we thinking that Mahara will bring 50 karor in a suitcase from Hong Kong or what ??

5. Another funny thing is that  so called Chinese guy on one hand is very sensitive about the visit of his friend and involvement of Chinese govt, on the other he don't hesitate to talk everything about dirty intend over the non secured telephone, sounds more like a joke. People who do this type of things are more serious about the use of open telephone line.

6. On follow up conversation it looks Maoist agreed to take money and Chinese(?) agreed to provide then why Mahara needed to meet him in Hong Kong. Why after the deal is agreed upon?

7. In the end of the interview Mahara seems to accepts the conversation had indeed happened but this may be because  of the guided projection in our brain.
