I have spoken with a current student in the college i will be going to and he says on campus jobs are not difficult to get in that college.

I also asked few students their recent earnings on campus and they said they earned around $4500 by working on campus. I am assuming 4k to be on the safe side.

Should i be unable to work, my parents will finance me wholly. However, i want to have the satisfaction of being able to finance myself.  

Am i being hypothetical? How can i plan better?
