Dont apply to 20+ colleges.. apply to 5-6 good ones and 2 backups. Quality is better than quantity. Customize your essays (most university will require two) according to the univeristy you are applying to.. dont just submit a generic one.... you need to stand out.
You apply to 20 universities and send them the same essay, the chances are you wont get into any of them... so concentrate on 5-6 good ones and give it your best. Visit the universities if possible and try to get to know people. The 3 most important aspect of finding a good job in the US is:
1. networking
2. networking and
3. networking.
Thats how i got my job....
If you just apply to a job and not be proactive and interact and connect with people, the chances are you wont get a job (well at least a good job).
Anyway.. I can give you list of universities i applied to and got in last year if you want. let me know.
BTW. the MSF program at Bentley is a one year program: 10 classes.
