Hopefully you got your answer from Kukur and Aarahat. But if you still don’t get it, let me ask you this. Did MaKuNe forced Prachanda to step down or came to your house and held a gun in front of you and claimed his premiership? I am by no means a Makune fan, but the election was for CA posts primarily, nobody voted for PM or presidency. MaKuNe is an ineffective leader who craves in to the bullies like India and Sujata (with her back support) but he didn’t kill thousands to get to that place. Besides, didn’t Prachanda “rule” for months and just like that quit the post? Now what changed that he had to bring almost entire Nepal on a stand still? For what? Reascension to the throne? Post ma bhabela ni ke nai khyasyo ra? I mean really, was the whole thing worth it?

The “buddhijiwi” didn’t rally to support MaKuNe, they rallied to support peace. Unlike the Naïve protestors, most whom I support, they know that all the options we have, the leaders and political parties, are not worth the blood shed—they aren’t going to do anything when they come to power so why all the maar-kaat?

Having said that I have to admit that Maoists should be given the power back with political consensus. They did secure almost  50% vote. Give it to them until the constitution is drafted.
